fuelinjent
Mine doesn't work either...same error. I've done all the same things. I need an answer to this too. I'm guessing the USPS changed something and a lot of stores are broken and the owners don't know it. (?) Spud
fuelinjent
I think I'm onto something...but I don't have it fixed yet. I've been looking through the USPS developers guide: http://www.usps.com/webtools/_pdf/Rate-Calculators-v2-1.pdf ...and comparing the API calls and such to the syntax in the usps.php modules file. There are differences. Not sure if they matter, but the post office seems to have added a "V3" in some of the various calls. Plus, the production and test server info in the php file is incorrect. I've tried some different things and still don't have it working however. But...bad news...the international stuff does NOT seem to have changed at all and if I enter an international address, it still doesn't work. So, not sure how good my theory is. Maybe somebody that really knows what they are doing could take a look at the code. HELP!!!! -=Spud
Guest
Spud, Did you change the USPS Production server to the correct address and test ? Steve Perdido Beach AL PS I cannot believe this is an out of the box failure... WOW.... This whole thing is about an E-Commerce Store...Selling and Shippinbg....DUH .... You would think a solution would be on hand shortly after USPS changed something... Maybe I will contact USPS and see if they can shed some light... fuelinjent
I have mine working. I did some testing with my changes and still couldn't get it to fly. I put the original stuff back (that didn't have the "V3" in it) but left the server locations corrected as per the USPS email. I did some more searching here and in the Contributions/Modules/shipping area, I found a few folks with the problem that had gotten it to work. They said that they CALLED the customer support number in the email from the USPS. I did that and told the lady I had an osCommerce site (as was suggested here) and she "did her thing" at that end. When I tried it again, it all worked. It appears that the test server doesn't work at all with osCommerce but once they've flipped the switch at that end for production, it starts happening. I hope you can get it going! Let me know if you need to see my corrected section that works. Spud
djkubus
I have the same exact problem, the module does not work and USPS sent me the test server API's in the welcome email and said the account is in test mode. I emailed USPS back and asked them to turn it on to production mode. I'm still waiting to hear from them but just wanted to let everyone know I have the same issue. Will post update. Ok USPS activated the account into production mode and it all work GREAT!!!! I changed nothing :-) works right out of the box, so yup the account has to be activated before it works.. Guest
Seems like I'm not the only one getting problems with USPS shipping module. Make sure that you have entered the zipcode you're shipping from in the configuration/shipping in the admin panel. If you have entered your zipcode, then it's probably an issue with the web hosting company. I still haven't gotten mine to work, but I contacted my web hosting company and asked them if they're preventing USPS from gaining access to shared server and they said yes. I have to give them the ip addresses that USPS uses and they'll let them through the firewall. Now I'm trying to get that info from the USPS but they're giving me a bit of a hard time at the moment. So, check with your web hosting company and see if their firewall is preventing USPS rates from showing up on your site. Good luck.
