Glor
I'm very new to this. I successfully installed osCommerce (with the help of my hosting tech support folks, KUDOS to them) onto my site - confirmed finished Step 4. However I have a few questions..... Question 1: I've done all of step 4 but do not have SSL (Secure connections). The price of my products for catalog will only be about $2 (us$) Do I need to download and enable SSL? If so why? Question 2: I do not plan on having a 2nd user so do I need to do Step 5??? Question 3: I have not created a store - right now I have one item with a link to PayPal for visitors to order. I only plan on selling a few products (one of a book I published and a few articles in pdf). What would the best type of files be for this? Look forward to your reply and thank you so much! web-project
The price of my products for catalog will only be about $2 (us$) doesn't matter about cost of the product - you should concern about security of the client private information. Please read this line: Do you want to find all the answers to your questions? click here. As for contribution database it's located here! 8 people out of 10 don't bother to read installation manuals. I can recommend: if you can't read the installation manual, don't bother to install any contribution yourself. Before installing contribution or editing/updating/deleting any files, do the full backup, it will save to you & everyone here on the forum time to fix your issues. Yes, indeed, this is true. Your major concern is about security is well understood, however, if you are using PayPal, you would not need to also pay for (security) as PayPal already has protection and privacy ecommerce. You will need still SSL protection as the client entering the personal details like address, phone number, email address and password to his account on your website. I can gurrantee with SSL protection you will get more sales. Please read this line: Do you want to find all the answers to your questions? click here.
