suthir
Hi all, I've been using OSC for a store fronts for products like t-shirts and stuff. I however just got a interesting question, if it could be used for travel tickets. I searched through forums and found others interested in a ticket system for concert and other travel type packages. At it's basic level would be to create products with dates and times with available seats (and inventory). One thing I didn't see mentioned was discounts for round trip travel as opposed to one way. For example it would cost say $10 for a ticket from A to B, and $10 from B to A on different days. But if someone buys a ticket from A to B and then back from B to A on the same day they would get a discount, either something like $15 for roundtrip or first ticket at $10 and second gets discounted to $5. Now that I type it out, it look like purchase one product and get a discount on a specifc second product. Inventory would need to be updated throughout to make sure seats (inventory) are updated correctly. Anyone worked on something to handle this? Or would anyone know if any of the contributions could be used to create such as discount? Tiered pricing and customer status seems to be two that hold potential. Or maybe just a way of manipulating the data? Any suggestions/direction would be appreciated. Thanks.
