too many products makes the Images folder time out

i need some massive help!!!

 

my site deals with 10 thousand + products. i started to add pictures to the images folder and i got to around 6 or 7 thousand images (add all the other images for the website itself) and now the IMAGES folder times out and i can no longer access it. every time now, i click on the images folder and it times out. i cant get into the folder at all.

 

i know their are other sites within oscommerice that have 10 thousand + products and fixed this problem.

 

i use easy populate to add product to my store and when it calls for the image for the product, its just the image file name (3532.gif) and not the direction of path (html/images/3532.gif)

 

if it was the path then it would be a easy fix and all i would have to do is change the path to html/productimage/3532.gif and store all the product images in that folder

 

is their any fix for this, please tell me their is ?!?!?

 

 

is their somewhere in the code in easy populate that i can change the directrion for the image for the product???

 

 

please help, i really need it!!!
