Guest
Hi there, I'm trying to add a new category to my store, and it lets me save it but then it's not there. And I tried to move or copy an item and it won't do that either. But it did let me add a new product and change the status of another one. So would it be the permissions?? If I can change anything on the page, I should be able to change everything, shouldn't I? Thanks for any help, I'm baffled. Nicole
germ
In your admin set "Use Cache" to false Save it. See if that makes any diff. If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you. Guest
It already says "false"...
germ
The only other thing I could suggest would be to clear your browser cache or hold the <Ctrl> key down while doing a page refresh in the browser to force the browser to reload all contents from the server. This works with IE and Firefox. If that doesn't help, you got my goat... If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you. Guest
Nope... And Germ, I must say I find it very disconcerting to get your goat. ;) You ALWAYS know what to do!! The only thing I can think of is I installed the thumbnail contribution and it changes both of the category.php files. Do you think there might be something in there to make it do that?? germ
OK. So you added a category. Have you also added a product into the new category and set the stock level to a number higher than zero? (grasping st straws, hoping it doesn't show.... ) If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you. Guest
I can't even add the category. I hit "save" and it just goes back to the same old list. Adding new products works though. I added a chain in the "Top" section hoping it would let me create the category that way (NOPE) and the chain is there, but you can only see it in the "New Products" page. And no "Chains" category, no matter where I try to add it. Maybe I should ask Burt?
germ
My bad! I thought your problem was on the front end in not showing the new category, instead it's on the back end not letting you add the new category. DOH on me!!! Admin problems can be a real bear to find and fix. And if you've made code changes to the back end, that'd be the first place to start looking for problems. BTW, looking at your profile, are you sure you're old enough to be doing "grown-up things" like running a web site? ;) If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you. Guest
HAA!! Isn't she funny? That's just some kid that was at my cousin's wedding. She's the world's youngest battleaxe, from what I hear (in a good way). I posted a question on the ClubOSC site to see if he thought the thumbnail contrib might affect it. His name is Gary? Why do I keep calling him Burt?? And why am I asking you? Because I ask you everything, that's why... hehe Does anyone else have any ideas about this category thing?? Guest
IT WAS THE CONTRIB!!!! I changed my files back to the backup just long enough to add the category, then changed it back so I could add the two images again, and all is well. So far...
