flyflinger
I cannot make this thing install on either local or on my server. I have followed the quick install notes in this forum about 100 times and nothing. I have downloaded this file three times think maybe it might be bad, didn't help. My host also offers this as a free upload and it doesn't work. I must be doing something wrong but I do not have a clue. Please don't say follow the quick guide it doesn't work in my case, I have alreadsy done 100 + times. I have put it on my web site in root directory in the catalog folder and taken the files out of the catalog folder.

Put the files in your web domain root.

flyflinger
If you took the files out of catalog, where did you put them? This installation is the one that my host provided and the install program put catalog in the root folder so I know it is there. I have put the catalog folder or just the folders/files in the catalog in just about evert major folder on my site. I have been at this for about 20 hours now so I think I have tried everything but the right thing.

This time, use the blue solutions tab at the top of this page, go to downloads, download the file from there, unzip it, ftp the files to your webspace. I will do that but I have already done that twice. I am downloading the program now. The first two times I downloaded the program from this website, only the last time did I have my host install the program with their software just to make sure it got in the correct folder and in the right form. When you ftp (using an ftp program) the unzipped files to your website, leave the directory structure as it is. It will work.

lindsayanng
why are you requesting catalog/install??? you shouldnt even be LOOKING at your website until you have uploaded the COMPLETE file structure AND created a database.. THEN you go in and fill in the info in the configure.php files, and you are done. WHAT are you talking about a data file? Well great I just call my host and for some reason my website pointers got switched back to my old host, haven't been there in 2 month, so I will have to wait 24 hrs to see if this thing works. I talked with them 4 times today and between yesterday and today I have wasted about 24 man hours fooling around with this. So I was uploading to my website but my browser could not find the files on a different ip address, go figure (sarcasm). Now what are the chances of that happening?
