susan767
Hi, I'm shopping around to find a right hosting service, and learned that some place restrictions on the number of MySQL databases provided. Unfortunately, I have no idea what "one MySQL database" means. (Is my memberlist one database, product catalog another and inventories a third??) I would appreciate it if someone can advise me how many MySQL databases I would need to implement my OSCommerce store. I just need to operate a single store with about 1,000 items and plan to do nothing else with the hosting service. Is it just one? Lastly, some also restrict the number of subdomains to 20~30 for basic shared hosting services. Do I need to worry about this too? Thanks a bunch, Susan

jhande
Hey Susan, To run an osCommerce shop you only need one database and no need for subdomains. What you should look for: Linux operating system MySQL 5 PHP 5 Email account Ability to add an SSL certificate Access to your hosted account, such as through cPanel Any bandwidth limitations Take a look at Bluehost.com ;) - :: Jim :: - - My Toolbox ~ Adobe Web Bundle, XAMPP & WinMerge | Install ~ osC v2.3.3.4 -
