moving from asp.....found template

I have two asp sites in use, with admin abilities. I found os a while ago and set it up on an apache server on my home computer, thinking using os might be a tad less expensive in server charges. I found several template samples, which I still have but do not see how the provided database set up works with these template designs. IF I create the databases, would I be able to find and replace the entries or does it all have to be done through joins? Is this a stupid question? I certainly hope not.....what I downloaded has so much more than I need.....yet.....

AND...forgive me if the answer to this question is posted some place else...I read many entires and don't see requests for database changes.

Thanks for your time in advance.

When you download the oscommerce site, the database entries are extensive. I understand why they are esatbliashed the way they are and if the master site fits the product, it's awesome and easy to use. I already have extensive databases set up on my asp sites for my products and my database tables are not set up the way os is. I'm not sure which way is better, why os establishes the tables the way it does, but what I am asking is, if there is a way, when changing the tables to know the places where the entries would have to be changed to reference the new correct table or would it have to be donw through a join?

I'm sorry this may have taken a while, I thought I responded. I hope this makes my question a tad more forward....oh...and asp uses binary images, can os read these?
