Guest
My host requires that I tell them of any files requiring HTTPS so they can move them over to the secure server. Which files are these? Do I also need to make any other changes other than naming the HTTPS server in the configuration.php file?
smiley
Hi Dick, Most hosts offer shared SSL which is configured in both the admin and catalog configure files. There should be no need to tell your host which files you are securing! :) HTH Neil Common sense is genius dressed in working clothes. Guest
ughhh!... what did i write...? Here, so you can be sure: "If you have chosen a ****, ******, ***** or ********** package, you are free to make use of a shared SSL certificate. If you would like to have files transferred to our secure server, load the files to a directory in the root level of your space named secure_transfer then email support@***.com asking them to move your files. Our support team will look over your files to check for any security issues and copy the files to our secure server for your use."
Guest
I wrote to my host regarding this SSL issue..... they replied: "Your files need to be moved/copied because SSL is not enabled on the server you are currently hosted on. SSL is enabled with a shared SSL certificate on another server." We can purchase our own certificate, but that would require us to be hosted on a dedicated server also, which is currently out of our price bracket. Has anybody else come across this issue with a provider? Does anybody know which files I have to move..?
