unable to delete hacked files

My store was hacked a while ago and im trying to tidy up as the hacked pages are still being accesses although the store is now secure.

i have a directory with just a few files and several folders left that wont delete in ftp program or dreamweaver.

i get this error message from FTP prog:

 

Transfer request completed with status: Finished

DELE 23720.php

550 23720.php: Permission denied

Looks to me like the hacker has root access to the server and those files are owned by root, this means that you have to be logged in as root to delete them.

 

Contact your server people .. and have they fixed their security?

thanks Robert i got them to delete the files - they said that to do it myself :

 

You need to create virtual directory in FTP service and then delete and you will be able to delete files.
