Can't remove item from cart

Problem: I am unable to remove an item that contains an option from the cart. An item without an option is easily added and removed. However, when you attempt to remove an item that has an option, the cart page merely refreshes with the old information. This problem also occurs when attempting to update the cart quantity.

 

I have attempted multiple installation (the most current with only changing the minimum necessary in the configure.php page in order to get the cart to work).

 

I have seen this post in the "bug" section but every post was closed with "lack of feedback" as a reason.

 

No worries about lack of feedback here....I have numerous clients that are interested in this cart system and I would love to see it operational on my server.

I really like what's working so far, but I still can't figure out what is causing this problem. I need to press on with modifications, if you want to work this problem reply to this post and I wll re-install it on a domain that I'm not using.

 

I realise that we are all busy and with the amount of messages being posted you can't get to everyone. As it is, I will need to utilise the IP address indicated above and therefore won't have an "out of the box" installation at that address anymore.

 

If you feel this problem doesn't warrant working, please delete my posts.

I found the following post which indicates the "mbstring" function of PHP 4.2.3 is causing the problem. We upgraded to PHP 4.3.0 this weekend and the problem was resolved.
