need help with new install

uploaded a new installation of oscommerce and need help with a few things.

 

 

if you look at the site - http://policecars.usedpolicecars.biz/osc/

 

you will see the defualt text is gone , i got that off the main page , but still showing "main_text" under the log in area.

how can i get the off the page and replce it with something else ?

 

one other question . how do i edit all the pages below in the lower left corner ??

you just need to get your head around the osCommerce structure. somewhere it's asking for TEXT_MAIN, and you've obviously taken out the definition of that without taking out the request for it. it's probably in index.php somewhere.

 

same with all those boxes. it's really easy to edit it, you just have to find where it's hidden. your best bet is to use something like dreamweaver, hit ctrl+f and tell it to search the entire website code for whatever you need - i found that very useful. but for now, i believ all of those things are found in the includes folder, and the text that's displayed is defined inthe languages folder.

osCommerce is GREAT. When it works...
