Can I upgrade from MS2 to RC2 directly?

Can I upgrade directly from MS2 to RC2? Is there an upgrade guide? Also, how do I do this not on my main site in case I run into problems; I want to be able to test the site before it's live.

I currently have no add-ons, but in RC2 would like to add PWA.

Thanks!

Thought what might help?

Are there any aps that will work on a mac?

Can I transfer from MS2 to RC2 without issues, or do I have to install everything that came in between?

I just saw the link I think you meant, and the problem is I can't risk having the website on the 'net for google not picking it up the RIGHT site. Should I just use xampp and will that let me do everything I want it to do? What are the variables I'll need to change to get it working on my PC, and then on the website once all is done?

So you are saying I need to install RC1 first? Where do I find RC1 to install?

Between yesterday and topday you've basically wasted away 21 hours in which you could have installed a "localhost" eg xampp, made a copy of your website on it. Then attempted the upgrade.

I've installed xampp and have made a copy. Now I don't know how to update the website in localhost...

Does anybody actually know how to upgrade from MS2 to RC2?

This guy has asked very patiently, and done what was requested of him. He's obviously not a programmer. Berating him and telling him simplisting things like installing a localhost test don't specifically address how to upgrade from MS2 to RC2.

Geoffrey ... thank you for posting those links ... that was helpful. But other people have essentially insulted the guy for asking a question. That's really rude, and shouldn't be allowed on this forum. We've *ALL* been beginners at some point, and its rediculous to harass someone for asking perfectly reasonable beginner questions. He's done what was suggested ... he's installed the localhost test site, but obviously doesn't know how to proceed from there. If you are willing to help, then help. If you can't help, then don't beat up on the guy.

abcxyz ... I'm sorry but I have no experience with the upgrade you are talking about ... If I did, I would post some information here that was actually helpful for you. Don't let the "internet tough guy" morons get under your skin ... keep asking, and keep experimenting. You'll get it eventually. Make sure to back up all your files and DataBase before messing with anything. Good luck, and let us know how it goes.

You've asked a very valuable question, and when you get it figured out, please post your solution here to help future newbies.
