sf7804
I can't checkout now... there's no shipping options shown (even though I have them set up) and it has a few other "weird" things.... The store if anyone wants to see is: http://www.rat-store.com/catalog/ You will be prompted for a password since I locked out access to that directory, the username and password are both "admin" and you may have to enter that twice to get the page to come up. (don't worry, I set that up as a decoy login, I'm not dumb enough to use admin as my REAL password!) Once you are there, feel free to create an account to login or use the one I set up... [email protected] with a password of admin. Any idea what to do to fix that? It's very frustrating.. I only upgraded to get the FedEx Zones module to work since it needs the newer shopping cart module :( My database is backed up in case I have to wipe the whole install and start over, but I can't figure out how to get it set up from scratch. I was initially going to set it up and test it in another directory, but I didn't get far with that idea.
♥Loaded Commerce
what version was your old version? do you have access to phpMyAdmin? can you edit your old sql file? Why not put it in a different folder and create a nother dbn for the new store? Best Regards, Salvatore Iozzia Loaded Commerce - Oscommerce - All Loaded Up. sf7804
Um, did I not just say I tried that? I keep getting "can't connect to database" errors on the install pages when I try to make another DB to use, so that WON'T work. Unless someone can spell it out, because the "help" that comes with the snapshot is not very helpful unless you actually have shell access with your host, and I don't. ♥Loaded Commerce
I feel your pain. you said it did not work, but you did nt say why. Thats why I asked  what version was your old version? do you have access to phpMyAdmin? can you edit your old sql file? Your host should handle the second db and privs and assist you with connecting. If you could provide more information it would be helpful. ♥Loaded Commerce
ok lets take this issue of not connecting to db Just becuase you can create a db in phpMyAdmin, does not mean your have privileges to access it. the user table in mysql may need to be updated by the hosting company before you can access it. Once you create the db can you edit it in phpMyAdmin? Have you contacted your host to request proper privs for the second db? sf7804
I don't think the DB is the problem, I've set up other DB's for other things. Let me try one thing and I'll report back.
sf7804
Woohoo!! I got a test install working, but now I have the challenge of editing some stuff to make it like I want without messing it up again!! :/
sf7804
Argh, looks like it was too soon to call that one :( The shipping/payment information doesn't pull up in checkout, even though I have options enabled for each. I think it has something to do with the info I "imported" from my old DB, so since I didn't have much there, I will just re-build it... so frustrating :( So I reset everything agian and I can't get the USPS or UPS rates to work... they say no country was supplied :(
♥Loaded Commerce
You need to have your My Store info setup with proper country and state/zone and I thikn the Zip code as well. sf7804
Hmm... I managed to get it working somehow, and I do have a product weight of less than 1.0, so maybe that was causing issues, but for the moment I think I've fixed it... but then I encountered a NEW issue! 1054 - Unknown column 'customers_company' in 'field list' and many more errors So I've added those into the orders database (that's where it was causing an error) so hopefully that will fix that.. argh! Now it all seems to be working "ok"... I just need to get a few things set back the way I want :)
