dfree99
We are having a frustrating time with missing or lost orders in osCommerce. Here is what is happening. 1. The order is placed in osCommerce 2. Upon checkout the customer leaves osCommerce to give the credit card info and pay securely via LinkPoint (LinkPoint Connect, I believe) 3. After completing the payment the customer returns to osCommerce "success" page and the order details are passed to osCommerce so we can see orders and order details in the admin section. 4. The problem is that once every 5 or 10 orders there is no record of the order on osCommerce. 5. LinkPoint transactions show the payment was made. 6. But osCommerce doesn't have any corresponding order. 7. So we end up with a customer waiting for a product but we don't know what they ordered. We have a total dollar amount captured by LinkPoint but osCommerce doesn't have any record of which products were ordered, shipping information, etc. I would really appreciate any help on this. I am hoping we are not the only ones to have experienced this. Thanks.
paxton
I am having the same problem, but use PayPal. Our store has only had about 5 orders since inception (it's a small non-profit organization) and two or three of them do not show up in osCommerce. We just get an email from PayPal stating that payment was made. I am curious if maybe the customer is not hitting the "Return to (your store)" button on the PayPal payment page, after making a payment. Maybe this causes the order to not be processed? I hope someone can help, because this is rather annoying.
knifeman
There is a contribution for linkpoint that works quite well. The customer does not leave the site. The info is passed to them and a return message comes back whether the card was authorized or failed. Tim We are having a frustrating time with missing or lost orders in osCommerce. dfree99
Thanks a lot. By chance do you know if this is the one you had in mind? http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...l/search,orders If not, I will keep looking because I would prefer to find a contribution that is specifically for LinkPoint, not PayPal, if it exists. Any help would be appreciated.
paxton
Hey Don, I've done a little research on this and it appears that this is the problem, at least with PayPal: If the customer does not click the "Return to (Your Store)" button after submitting payment, then the payment is processed, but osCommerce doesn't show the order. I'm assuming your payment processor has a similar link to return to your store. The orders that aren't showing up are probably from people who don't return to your store after payment. There may be a way to setup your payment processing to automatically redirect them back to your site after payment. I would contact them to see if this can be done. The previously mentioned "PayPal" contribution isn't just for PayPal, although it is named that. What it does is create a backup of the customer's cart before they go to the payment site. So, if they don't return, you can retrieve their order in osCommerce. I haven't had time to look for a permanent solution, so I just placed text on my payment page reminding customers to click the "Return to (Your Store)" button after payment for their order to process correctly. I would look into the contribution for LinkPoint. It sounds like the payment is processed on your site and the information is just sent to LinkPoint for approval. I'm assuming you would want to have an SSL certificate for this, if you don't already. Good luck! Brian
paxton
P.S. Here is a link for a search done in the payment modules support forum for LinkPoint. Hope it helps. http://tinyurl.com/LinkPoint
dfree99
Brian, Thanks a ton. You are exactly right. The problem appears to happen when the customer doesn't return to OSC after paying via LinkPoint. Thanks for the links.
hubertus
Hello, I have the same problem but with credit card payments (I don't use paypal on my web shop). About 1 or 2% of the orders disappear and all is left, is the payment of the order that was credited to my web shop's bank account. Can someone explain to me, in simple terms, how to install this contribution: http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...l/search,orders I downloaded it, but I really don't understand how to install it. So help would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.
hanler
Hi, I seem to have a similar problem. I have PayPal installed and when I make a test order everything goes fine (payments is made and a confirmation e-mail is sent to the customer and me). But when I return to the adin section and would like to see the orders ther - nothing. The customer can't see the order online either, but if the customer follow the link in the confirmation e-mail from the store it is shown (so the order exists in the database, but is not shown either on the site or in the admin section). I am greatful for all help regarding this. Regards Hans
