Jax2
two questions#1--when i set up my catagory and products is there a way to set up a sub catagory for instance i have glass beads but there are different kinds\ #2--when i enter new products into the catagory it automatically goes into the new products also is there a way to do either but not both thanks When you set up your categories, you will see a whole list of them. Now, select a category in the drop down list like you would when adding your products to that category, instead of clicking on "new product", type new category. Create your new category inside of the parent category and it will become a sub-category for you. Understand what I mean? For example, I have "Animal Gifts" on my site. If I choose "animal gifts" from the drop down list, I am now in the animal gifts category. If I create a new category like "Eagles", it will create a new subcategory under Animal Gifts called "eagles"...etc. One note. When you go to your site and see a list of categories, sub categories do not show up. If you click on a category that has subcategories, they will then be shown on the next page, in the menu, under the parent category you're in. As for the other question, I'm not sure, I think it alawys shows the newest items added no matter what? Oh, and one last thing, when I have sub categories, I make sure to put every item into the parent category and then copy it over to the appropriate sub-category. It may just be how I like to do things, but it seems like if you have a parent category with no items in it, not everyone will notice the new sub-categories on the right menu and they may think it's an empty category. So, all items in one main, then separate items in the sub's... it really works well for me.
