mauiartgirl
Hi, Our new site is finally up, and we're anxious to hear some feedback from you. my Hawaiian art site Many thanks for your time and opinions!
♥geoffreywalton
Really like the side images, it is a bit grey here at the moment. Slow to load and then seems to switch between 2 images as do all the other headers. Someone has found a new toy and wants to use it!!!!! :-) If you got rid of them entirely those with a portable/laptop would be able to see what you want to sell. I get to see the top half of popular products. Chose a sub category or should it be Artist? Overall very nice looking. mauiartgirl
Thanks, G! I appreciate your comments. We did wonder about the loading time factor of the flash headers, but upon testing, it semed to work fine for either broadband or DSL. Our site is so graphically-heavy that it would probably be a nightmare for anyone on dial-up anyway, so we basically decided to go with the majority. Thanks again for taking the time to look! I'd be interested in hearing from others as well. Aloha from Maui....
toneus
I found the Flash a little offputting - when I was reading your text your eyes get distracted by the sudden movements. Wouldn't worry too much about this - it's probably just me. Your border is uneven - you may want to look at this. Loaded fine for me, no real delays so I guess this may be a contention issue. Overall, I really like your site, however nothing in the Captain Cook section! Outrageous! t o n e u s
Guest
Hi, Our new site is finally up, and we're anxious to hear some feedback from you. my Hawaiian art site Many thanks for your time and opinions! I like it very much. I do see the border being a teeny bit wider on one side. I happen to like the flash, but then I like toys :-) I'm on a laptop with a cable connection, no problems with load time or viewing the site. fish say...
when I enter Printsellers.com, I feel an instant breeze and the Hawaii look make me warm in the cold winter. I can tell it's beautifully and neatly designed.Good job!! But when the flashes on the top are switching, it creates a fraction of blank space.Maybe you can change it,using another switching mode. a cloud engenders not a storm..... mauiartgirl
Many mahalos to you all for your comments! I know the border is uneven, and that's a bone of contention. Actually, the site was designed using Firefox, and it's even there, but in IE, it's jagged. Sigh... Flash is definitely one of those things that you either like or you don't, but for now, we'll probably stick with it, because there's a lot of back story there. As for the Captain Cook section, we're still working on deciding what sizes and media options to offer on those prints, but once we do, they'll be back up. After all, if not for the good captain, we might not be here in Maui today! Thanks again for all of your insightful feedback. :)

Some really cool features and it does NOT look like an OSC page, thats always the hardest part for me, making it NOT look like OSC.
mauiartgirl
Aloha Tai, Mahalo for the kind words! No, I'm not the designer. We hired a local company to re-do our site, and even though the end result may have turned out well, it's been a very long, agonizingly drawn-out year in the making, and I would never recommend them. I agree with you that the overall look is good though, and it doesn't look like a cookie-cutter osC site. Mahalo again for looking!
voided
very nice work! how do you manage the "preview with frame" images? are all the products shot with all their different frames or is it dynamically generated (the main picture is inserted into the frame somehow) ? mauiartgirl
None of the images actually have the frames on them originally. All the individual jpegs are unframed, and then the frames themselves are "applied" (overlaid? superimposed?) using javascript. Our old site had that too, and we find it's a really effective sales technique! Mahalo for your kind words! :)
♥14steve14
Just a silly little thing, but dont you think you should watermark your lovely images somehow. I bet peolple will see them and just copy the images. REMEMBER BACKUP, BACKUP AND BACKUP
BlindingLight
It looks really gorgeous. I love the attention you have paid to detail and the consistency in the art direction. I love your Browse by Category Box at the bottom and the subtlety of your homepage. Great graphic work! Love it!
mauiartgirl
Many thanks for your all your comments! Getting this site put together was a very involved process, and many details still need fixing/changing, but it's great to hear that the overall look is pleasing to so many! :)
simonmo
I love your site, makes me want to rush for a holiday to hawaii right now, but on a more serious not, heres my feedback. I think the flash banner is nice, and good, but it's missing a pause next and back set of buttons. Also, maybe smaller text, this is just a personal taste sort of thing, or all caps. Have you used studio lighting to take the photos? If you have, then maybe a bit longer on the exposure, or some retouching in photoshop? Slightly dark. Also in Product descriptions: in the box below, decrease the cell padding to line up the title and the description. Unless this is deliberate. You could intergrate zoom into the images, instead of enlarging one corner, or maybe move the corner over a bit in the photo, cos when I first saw the photo, I thought the frame had a slightly oversized corner, and although I thought it looked nice, it wouldn't be what I would be getting if I ordered, so that may or may not be an issue. Also, other products you might like section, could be in the form of a table underneath the products description. But apart from those few points, it's a very nice site, also please note that those are my personal opinions, and that I may or may not be correct, so your free to disregard them if they aren't valid. :)
