Hi I am trying to use the cache function and the forum wont let me past any first pages when I do a search and when I set the cache to true I get the end images on the infoboxes randomly displaying.

If I switch the cache back off they go away....now I have the cache set as /tmp/ and I have checked the tmp I have in the public_html and the tmp that I have below that. i.e level with public_html and neither of them ever get any files so so where is oscommerce getting these red images for the end of the info boxes from

and is any one else having problems with the forums??

Ok I have now done some more digging and I can find very little in the way of instructions on how to set the cache up.

Does anyone know a definative set of instructions or can point me to a URL that will guide me through it!.

Thanks in advance

To set up your cache, go to your Admin page - Configuration - cache

* Set the value to true.

* There's a path to the cache folder on the second line - make sure you can write or have access to that folder. If not, create a 'temp' or 'cache' folder in your webroot directory and enter the path there.

Ex: /home/user/public_html/cache

Note: I have seen posts that recommend users to turn cache off and also some that recommend users to turn it off. It would be nice to get on confirmation of this setting for the latest snapshot.
