Search not working in this forum

I'm new here and to OSCommerce. Its been a very tough learning curve due to the lack of documentation. But I've been coming along, and this is a very nice project.

One thing I can't figure out is in the Admin panel under "Product Listing". What do these numbers mean? I looked at the FAQS, docs, OSCdox, and have searched here and could find no reference to it.

Then I noticed that the search function right here is not working properly. First I searched for "product listing" and got no hits, then "listing" and got no hits, then "product" and got no hits. This was strange I thought. Then I manually looked through some messages and sure enough there are the words "product" and "listing". I went back to seach and entered "listing" and got no hits, then "product" again, and this time I got pages of hits. So the error here is intermittent <sp?>.

So basically, if this question has been asked before, I aplogize, but I did try my best to search for the answer short of going through EVERY single message here.

Sam,

I honestly can't tell you...I haven't got the foggiest except for the Location of Prev/Next Navigation Bar (1-top, 2-bottom, 3-both). That one makes sense to have more than on/off.

Take each of the items in the product listing and number them from 1 to 5. Then go and have a look in your catalog at a product listing.

Then go back to admin and change the numbers around. Go back to your catalog (product listing) and take another look.

You'll soon see what happens. It's like magic it is! :D 8)

yep , numbers can range from 0 (false or Off) to 99 !

so for example:

1 2 6 65 99

so if next to model,manufacturer, product , buy now e.t.c, you put these numbers thats the left to right order you'll get.

for intermediate /advanced OSC'ers ->

In the .php files look for the colspan= values , this sets how many columns that cell will span...so for a product description below each product I set this value to five if I am using five headings in my product listing table.

This looks nice and neat.

I think negative numbers are allowed in certain sections

(pls check before hand)
