Adding inventory quantity to size attribute for clothing

Recommended Posts

I have used the attributes sizing function successfully to allow for size purchasing for clothing sales. I cannot determine how to differentiate the size quantites, though.

The scenario:

Attributes checked on new product setup.

Any quantity listed in product quantity box is applied to all product sizes. Quantity '1' listed.

In a test purchase, the size is differentiated in the checkout process as it will not allow me to purchase more than the quantity, i.e., I can purchase 1 medium, 1 large each but it gives me an error when I try to purchase 2 xlarge.

Is there somewhere that allows for individual size or other attribute inventory levels to be set or adjusted that I am not seeing?

I have seen in another forum thread an application of copy attributes or linking of products in various categories. I assume that linked products will act as 1 product for inventory control purposes; is this true? Can I use this methodology for my size inventory control? Is there a direct method?

Much appreciation if I can get pointed at the right page, add-on or function to use in C-Panel.

:)

If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you.
