dreamscape Posted January 23, 2003 Posted January 23, 2003 hey all, I am looking for a site news contrib where you would enter the news in admin and view it on the default.php page in the main section... there is a contrib called "news on default.php" however the install instructions are non-exsitent and the contrib is all in german. I did manage to get it installed and changed over to english somewhat, however it appears that there are some files missing from the package... I've been searching through the contribs but don't seem to see anything else... is there another one out there? Installation is basically 1 phpmyadmin visit and 1 change to default.php and possibly 1 change to the config file for the news script if you install admin in catalog. Beyond that it's not that bad. I'm sort of working on a few more changes to it right now but not progressing very well :oops: oops, might've helped that if I had contributed it to features instead of infoboxes ... hmm ... it can do them though ... oh well, any problems please post to the contribuation thread rather than this one. moyashi Posted January 23, 2003 Posted January 23, 2003 the mod fits quite well into the scheme of things. simple and neat ... gonna have to look to this mod for making mine a bit more intergrated. things to watch out. you have to add a few language bits to it. things that I miss: I'd switch to this mod if it had a block on the side and could do pictures. hehe, same me the trouble of doing programming work that I'm horrible at. my thoughts: try out both mods! and keep the one that fits your needs. :D NewsDesk(934) / FAQDesk(1106) / OrderCheck(1168) :::
