Guest
As stated in title, if my item weighs under 1 lb, say it's .35 lbs it is being added to the shopping cart as 3.35 lbs. If the item is 1 lb or over it is added correctly. Where do I look for the fix to this, and what exactly would that be? Any ideas at all? Which code I can post here to help figure it out? Help, please! I'm having such a hard time with the shipping and my store is ready to take orders if I can just get it all sorted. :(

You can find this under Configuration > Shipping
Guest
It sounds like you might need to adjust your Tare weight. You can find this under Configuration > Shipping I don't see anything referring to tare weight. I didn't even know we used tare weight in the US, I thought it was European, LOL. I only have UPS enabled United Parcel Service Enable UPS Shipping True UPS Pickup Method CC UPS Packaging? CP Residential Delivery? RES Handling Fee 0 Tax Class TEXT_NONE Shipping Zone TEXT_NONE Sort order of display. 0 Shipping Methods 2DA, 3DS, GND, STD
WoodsWalker
Well, unless you've got an unusual version of osC, it does sound like Tare Weight. Most of the rest of us will find this under Configuration>Shipping/Packaging, fourth item from the top, "Package Tare weight". and it does come with some odd figure in it as a default, which always confuses people when they install shipping based on weight. Have you double-checked Configuration>Shipping/Packaging? ~Wendy

Guest
So, now I've tried leaving it blank, and I've tried putting in 0.00, and I've tried .0 and I'm still having an addition to the weight though not as bad. Now it's adding an odd amount, a 1 lb item becomes 1.1 lbs and an .80 lb item becomes .88 lbs. Is this normal?
WoodsWalker
You're getting there! Obviously it's adding 10% to everything - have you looked at Configuration>Shipping/Packaging, last item, Larger packages - percentage increase? Maybe there's a default value in there as well. ~Wendy
