hobbzilla Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 Okay, I have looked and looked. It doesn't matter whether or not you enter an e-mail address into the textbox for tell_a_friend.. if you press the "ENTER" key you will get the url: [email protected]&products_id=# HOWEVER, if you click the little envelope it appends some crazy x & y params that vary in number (ie. ....&products_id=#&x=5&y=5) Anyone have any clues as to their function, who/what/where/when/why/to what extent or degree?.. i've looked at includes/boxes/tell_a_friend.php and can't find where they might be hiding!!! It isn't breaking anything.. I'm just curious. and click the little envelope&x=5&y=5
hobbzilla Posted January 22, 2003 Author Posted January 22, 2003 and click the little envelope&x=5&y=5 I guess I shouldn't use the textbox as a scrap piece of paper.. disregard this please!
specialk Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 They are the x and y co-ordinates of where you clicked on the image (try clicking on different parts on the image - you'll see the values change) They aren't used for anything in this case, but are automatically submitted along with the other form values when you click on the image. This is default form behavior. They appear in the query string because the form method is "get" - if it was "post" you wouldn't see them. Note this occurs in other areas with images submitting a form, like the quick find. Kyle
hobbzilla Posted January 23, 2003 Author Posted January 23, 2003 Thanks for sparing that beam of light. /me understands now! I am not really familiar with POST vs. GET differences.
