No one can checkout of my store. Help.

I have received complaints that people cannot checkout. Which is obviously a bad thing on my part.

I tested it out myself on my cart.. this is my message

"Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class soapclient in /home/nyhotsho/public_html/includes/classes/nusoap.php on line 7239"

Does anyone know how do I fix this???

I have had this error a few times. Basically it has occured after I have modified a file beyond my expertise. Something is 'looping' around (in a non code meaning of looping) and conflicting with itself as a result of the alteration. My guess is that this particular message means the program is it trying to keep track of someone who is logged on 'twice', but I have never needed to figure it out to solve the problem.

If you try and track it down from the error msg you will go nuts if you can't read php. The msg doesn't tell you

necessarily where the problem is, just the point past the problem where the program 'lost it', which could be lines and lines past the error, or a different page even. In other words it is unlikely the classes/nusoap file that is screwing up.

The way I have solved this is to replace entire pages, maybe it's like auto repair with a pipe wrench but it works. It will most likely be a page you did something to in your redesign of your site.

Note which page you are on when the error occurs, or recall which page you last altered. Replace that page with the same page from a virgin copy of osCommerce.

Also before you give up after you replace a page, get all the way out of the program, before retesting it.

Hey,

I have been having so much trouble lately with osCommerce! I keep getting errors every time I do updates.

Where would I be able to find a virgin copy of osCommerce?

Thanks for your help

sorry, by 'virgin copy' I'm using slang, ie an untouched copy. One way to get it is to install osCommerce brand new in a new folder. If your existing copy is in your 'top' level, ie public_html, install the new copy of osCommerce in a folder you name or the install program call 'catalog'

Then you have a clean copy to borrow from

You can just decompress it on your pc to get a copy of the file.

Hey,

I knew what you meant about a virgin copy lol but I tried to do that actually last night... I still get the same error message.

This happened because I was updating my PayPal email address.. then this happened.

I will try one more time today, if that doesn't work, I am thinking about just reinstalling everything. Do you know how to export your inventory..if that is possible to do so on osCommerce??

You are such great help I really appreciate it!
