orchidd4
Hello All. I have had my website built for me. I've been told by my hosting company its an oscommerce site. I have a few texts to modify and possible looking to add advertising links and for the future ecommerce. I was never given an admin name/password by the programming company that built my site and been told by them they can build a cms for me but ofcourse would cost $. Was thinking of doing it myself. Dont have any php knowledge just reading alot right now. If my site's built using oscommerce wouldnt it include a editor already and if so how would I call it up. Would I have to install oscommerce again so as to be able to get "in" to modify my site? thanks
spooks
osC does include a inbuilt editor within filemanager, but its a security risk & damages files, best removed. http://www.oscommerce.info/kb/osCommerce/Common_Problems/15 Use a normal editor like such as html-kit & upload with ftp You can reset your passwords with: Reset Admin Password http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,5857 Sam Remember, What you think I ment may not be what I thought I ment when I said it. Contributions: Auto Backup your Database, Easy way Multi Images with Fancy Pop-ups, Easy way Products in columns with multi buy etc etc Disable any Category or Product, Easy way Secure & Improve your account pages et al.
