LloydCase Posted November 26, 2008 Share Posted November 26, 2008 I am a green newby at osCommerce. so far I have my site set up and working with Paypal and the pages edited to my customized desires. I am setting up to offer all my products by download. I have done the download module configuration with the settings as described. Then I tested a purchase cycle... made a customer (me) and bought one of my products. I managed to pay (through PayPal) on my credit card. I got the letters saying it all took fine and I had earned some income from myself.... but here is where the problem came... As a customer, I can not see how to get the download I paid for.... is it a link somewhere? I looked in my account and found the transaction... no links, no information... etc. No email was received about how to download.... nothing appeared at purchase time telling me where to go, passwords or anything... HELP!!! It is not good to be able to charge but not deliver! I know this is a dumb question but how does a customer get notified and enabled to obtain their download zip file (yes, I did put it in the directory where I was told to put it!) Set up in product attributes an option value thats named download. with the option value yes and no. then link each product product attribute to say download- yes. and then put the file name of your zip file in the filename box, expiry and number of downloads. then it will bring up a link in the order page. I did have the download yes and the redirect yes (I am on a unix, apache, PHP, mysql service at siteground) and did the product attribute/values thing too... I think it was correctly done... it shows up in my account order product description and all. I did the zip file upload and entry into the filebox.... all this before I wrote my help note... Your mention of the link is the first I have read/heard/guessed at it.... THANKS! It leaves you wondering about a lot of possibilities when you can go through the whole purchase and never see anythng to tell me as a customer what to do to get the download stuff.... By 'order page' you mean in my customer account under orders? I don't see it.... the order still says pending however. Maybe the link does not appear until after the paypal payment or something? Still, I did pay for it and paypal sent me notes (both as a customer and as the business account) saying the payment was made and deposited... does that mean my order record is not being updated correctly? gosh, I am confused. I will try to buy something again to see if the obsure link you mention happens previous to the payment... that seems dangerous however as a customer might download and not pay... confusion, confusion....
