donate portion of proceeds from category to charity

Hi All. I don't know if anyone has already made or is trying to make an add-on that would allow the store admin to pick a category and donate a portion of the proceeds to a charity of the admins choosing.

For example I want to create a special category named 'Red Cross' and donate 25% of the sales price to the American Red Cross. This money would be charged to the customer, as normal, then sit in the Pay-Pal account or a special account. Then the admin would forward payment to the American Red Cross, by check or Pay-Pal. Of coarse if the add-on could automatically calculate 25% of the sales price (shipping and tax excluded) and forward a portion of that directly to the charity of choice, then that would be awesome. Otherwise, just keep a running tally of the amount to be donated.

Anyone know of, or making, an add-on to do this.

Ideas or referrals are appreciated.

Thanks a lot

Seems like a bit of over kill.

Could you use one of the reports and than on a mothly basis calculate the sales in the category and send 25%.

There is a charity contribution by linsayanng which might be of interest.
