Where do I begin?

Hi. So I just installed osCommerce through cpanel using fantastico, and now, I have no idea where to start. Ive downloaded and printed out the manul, but its seems like all of the installation procedures were completed automatically by the installer program. As far as the actual modification, post installation, is concerned, would some kind soul out there tell me where to begin?

I've never attempted something like this before...basically what Im trying to do is switch my site over from using PayPal shopping carts to its own. Until now I've just used paypal's button & shopping cart features to handle any monetary transaction so I have a layout, a catalouge, etc. The whole site is done, but how do I add osCommerce into the setup? :?:

I'm also a newbie, but i've done the paypal bit.

First thing: Secure your site. In the docs, the section after installation describes what to do.

At this time, oscommerce comes with a default paypal piece, but the paypal ipn had more features.

Go to the contribution section and download the paypal ipn module under payment. http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions

Anyway, visit you admin page http://yoursite.com/admin and check out the options under payment, shipping, etc. You can play around with it, test out sample purchases and decide what you want to add.

Thanks for replying to my post badjuju and for the link to the Paypal info :D But for now what Im trying to do is use osCommerce in another layout, without PayPal. My problem is that, while I do know how to edit the css stylesheet and set up the products etc, I dont know how to implement the shopping cart with an HTML layout. Basically what I have is a graphic interface/layout that has been cut into smaller images and put together in a table. The main pages load in iframe windows, and its on those pages that I want to have the shopping functions of osCommerce. Hence, I cant have an entirely new layout loading in there!

Are there any tutorials for adding osCommerce to a website that is already completed? Or for changing the layout? I'd rather not use the default.php template or CSS.

Thanks to anyone who can help.
