is the new online merchant v2.2 rc2 user friendly

is the new online merchant v2.2 rc2 designed to be user friendly.

 

i have been using the oscommerce online merchant for 3 years now with great success i was able to change the text in the information boxes for the conditions shipping etc etc but now i am being told that the new V2.2 RC2 is not as user friendly website because now i don't have full control of the CMS i am now only able to update products and photos all text boxes are now restricted and just keep getting the following.

Error: I can not write to this file. Please set the right user permissions on:etc etc etc

Permissions for files should be 644 and 755 for folders. This is in most cases.

thanks for replying unfortunately i dont understand how to access these folders i am not to clever with this tec stuff

i have been using the oscommerce for about 3 years with great success editing files and photos etc .

i used to be able to go in to admin browser -tools - define languages - and access the files that i needed to edit.

but since the guy who built this site for me and showed me how to use the admin etc etc has now sold it on to somebody else to host and run the site and has now updated the site to v2.2 rc2. Now informs me i am no longer able to access the files to do this now all i get is -

(Error: I can not write to this file. Please set the right user permissions on) who do i need to ask to give me the right user permissions he informs me that its not CMS friendly any more
