Guest Posted January 21, 2003 Posted January 21, 2003 Hi, I'm running as yet unhacked version of Ian's Loaded 4 snapshot of osC 2.2. I did remove all example products, and add my own, but that's about it. Myproblem is that 'upcoming products' does not show. I have tried adding a 'date available' entry to products I don't yet have, but, there is no form box available for 'data available' in the product edit form or new product form. It's the only one I've noticed that doesn't show. :( I saw a previous post describing the exact same problem that never reached resolution (and that post is now locked). Could I have lost a column in my database for "date available"? (if so, how can i restore it?) Or could it be something else? Thanks in advance for any advice. Jon
♥Loaded Commerce Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 Products not placed in a catagory tend not to show up, do you get any errors in the back room? do you have check stock level on? Best Regards, Salvatore Iozzia Loaded Commerce - Oscommerce - All Loaded Up.
Guest Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 Products not placed in a catagory tend not to show up, do you get any errors in the back room? do you have check stock level on? Thanks for responding! And nope. Not other errors. And, yes, the product is in a category. I have tried stock on and off, as well as different stock levels, to see if that had something to do with it. No effects on upcoming products, it seems. Actually, I went in with phpMyAdmin the other day and look a look at the product tables themselves. They're fine! I can put in an expiration date and time myself and it works great -- upcoming products *do* show on the front page, and it shows in the product description that it's coming. Weird. Even now, WITH an expiration date set, it still doesn't show up when I go to edit the product. There's apparently sometihng in the product editing code that's messed up. I should contact phesis / Ian and see if it's a Loaded 4 issue (loaded 4 after all patches have been installed, granted). I should also just install another copy of osC Loaded 4, and take a look at this at it pre-patch, then do each patch individually, and see if anything changes. Again, thanks for your response, Salvatore. Would you or anyone else have some more ideas?
♥Loaded Commerce Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 hi the phesis forums and see what Ian has to say, soon loaded 5 comes out. Best Regards, Salvatore Iozzia Loaded Commerce - Oscommerce - All Loaded Up.
Ian Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 This is almost certainly a javascript problem. When adding/editing a product there should be a date advailable field just below the product status selector (At the top of the page) If all you have is some text saying date avaialble and no entry box then you either have javascript disabled or yout browser does not support javascript. Trust me, I'm an Accountant.
jotein Posted January 29, 2003 Posted January 29, 2003 I have the same probem jon has, and the date field shows up as well a the javascrip calendar working. Now this is what I found out: 1) When I look at the products table (on phpMyadmin) on browse mode, the field "products_date_available" display NULL on all records. I sellect a record to edit and I the "products_date_available" display the current 'date-time" 2) Then, I modify any character in this field, going back to browse mode, now shows the date modified instead of NULL. 3) Now, going to osc>admin>catalog> to edit the record I just modified the date availabe entry box shsows the date . Then if I update the record the date gets erased in the db. An back to the same. Can this be a problem in the Java scrip passing the date to ph? I seems a formating issue. Looks ad if the date passed to MySql is not recognized. Regards, Pepe Nieto [/b]
