If you're trying to clone a module you need to do a lot more than just change the filenames. This post should give you a better idea.

I added your Category images add-on as a new add-in, replaced all files, but nothing changed.

I went into the admin area found the front door module, click on it and it showed + install module (0)

I see no changes any were and no category images.

I went backed and checked the placing of all the files and it was correct.

 

Is there anything else that I need to do?

Did you install Categories Images or the Modular Front Page addon? What version of osCommerce are you installing on?

The admin side should see the modules. Close your browser, then reopen and log in again. If you still don't see a list of modules to install, it's likely that you didn't put the module files in the right place.
