Adrian11 Posted November 19, 2008 Share Posted November 19, 2008 Hey all, New to all this and have searched a fair bit but can't seem to find what I'm after. I had hoped the banner section in the admin area would have this as an option but it doesnt appear to. I am wanting to have a different banner for each category, so when you click a category link on the left and the page refreshes to display the product thumbs of that category, the banner at the top is specific to that category... I'm guessing I should have an extra column in my banners database table for category_id, then I can select the banners_image where banner_id = category_id? I think my theory is sound but not 100% how... the url would be something like index.php?cPath=1 How can I use this in my query to make sure I grab the right banner? Guest Posted November 19, 2008 Share Posted November 19, 2008 You can do category driven banners, I would suggest either search the contributions to see if someone has created an add-on for this, or do a google advanced search for it, using oscommerce.com as the site in the search form. Searched and searched! Still cant find anything, closest I have come is "Deep Inside osCommerce: The Cookbook" which has a chapter on creating banners specific to categories. There are a few add ons, I saw some this morning.
