Hi

Having sorted everything out.. well seemingly, I have 2 red error messages at the top of my stores opening page, I don't know how to delete what they are askin me to remove.. please help

I might be being a bit stupid here, but I'm also wanting to have a homepage with a link to the store, I was wondering how I do this... so my site visitors don't have to type in a long url.

Sorry, I am new to creating websites and would appreciate any guidance anybody can offer

Thanks xx

If the errors are what I think they are then you have to

1) Delete the install directory from your server using FTP tool

2) Set the permissions on your two configure files (Catalog\includes\configure.php AND Catalog\Admin\includes\configure.php) to 444 or 400 with the FTP tool.

Right click on the file (configure.php), click file attributes, and enter the number 444 in the box that says numeric value, click OK.

Thanks for the quick reply :)

I have tried via ftp, http and file manager and still couldn't do it. None of them when u right click on configure.php let u see user attributes.

Any help?

It's file attributes not user attributes BTW. You first connect to your server with your FTP tool like FileZilla. Then when you right click on the file there will be a pop up menu with options. One of them towards the bottom will be file attributes or permissions maybe. Click on that and then add the value of 444.

If that fails, try using the filemanager in your webhosts control panel.

Hi... I have tried all these solutions and had a friend try them too.

I have filezilla and it says that you can change the values . Then when u close and then go back on it the values are at what they originally were.
