quantumnetworks
Hi everyone, I'm still trying to figure out OS Commerce But..... I am testing to make sure that everything is working... and I get this error for paypal: Unable to process payment. Please contact the merchant as the shipping address provided by the merchant is invalid, and the merchant has requested that your order must be shipped to that address. The weird part is that I put my correct home address, so the validity is not the issue It's really driving me crazy Paypal settings if needed: _____________________________________________________________ Enable PayPal Website Payments Standard True E-Mail Address [Main email address in account] Payment Zone --none-- Set Preparing Order Status Preparing [PayPal Standard] Set PayPal Acknowledged Order Status Preparing [PayPal Standard] Gateway Server Live Transaction Method Sale Page Style paypal Debug E-Mail Address [MY personal email address] Sort order of display. 0 Enable Encrypted Web Payments False ___________________________________________________________________________ Help will be greatly appreciated Thanks a lot!! Guest
Yes What is the PayPal IPN module - is that the PayPal Express Checkout that is part of the standard OSC package, or is it a contrib. I looked at the contrib's and couldn't find it except a beta version from 2002. What should I do to insure error free processing with PayPal? Enzio_Ferrari
I think that this bit from PayPal is confusing the issue: "Please contact the merchant as the shipping address provided by the merchant is invalid". On the face of it, it seems that PayPal is calling into question the address of the merchant (you). Actually I think it's that the 'customer' is giving a shipping address that is different to the billing address. For some years PayPal have frowned on this as it can be a 'get out of jail free' card to internet scammers who rip off credit card details and bill other people for goods they receive. Under PayPal rules this means that the seller is no longer covered for their losses if it turns out that they have been ripped off by this method. Just my 2 penn'orth  When all else fails ... RTFI ... then ... GIVE UP!
jhande
"Please contact the merchant as the shipping address provided by the merchant is invalid". You as a merchant can not run a test purchase from yourself. PayPal is just lovely that way. You can test your setup using PayPal's Sandbox or you have to setup a totally different account with PayPal even using a different back account. I would also recommend IPN - :: Jim :: - - My Toolbox ~ Adobe Web Bundle, XAMPP & WinMerge | Install ~ osC v2.3.3.4 -

The reason why this is being rejected is because Paypal recognises YOU as the store owner and then your are trying to test YOUR store with YOUR details This will always be rejected A simpler method is to simply test with another email address and you should not get any errors
