burbur Posted November 12, 2008 Share Posted November 12, 2008 Hi Everybody I am totaly new to internet bussiness. Friend helped me to create the shop but now I am on my own and need help. Please forgive my lack of knowledge on how to name some things but I promise to learn fast :) So my website address is burburdesign.com and in red upper line where there are HOME, NEW PRODUCTS, SPECIALS, MY ACCOUNT and CONTACT I would like to add anotherbutton eg shipping where I can write description etc. The other problem I got I would like to include text only under shipping terms and condition and I dont know how to get rid of picture and make sure somebody wisiting the site can see WHOLE text not only part of it as in items description. I had some experience with HTML code and I know I can modify a lot of staff there but I think add the button wont necessery mean messing with HTML and I dont even know how to get to HTML from my site. knifeman Posted November 12, 2008 Share Posted November 12, 2008 Most likely, the code for the existing buttons is in a file called header.php If you open that file with a text editor, you should be able to see the code for them and hopefully copy some of it to add an additional button. Of course you would alter the text shown and also the link that it points to. Your site looks like a template.... if so, it may be harder to find the source code. burbur Posted November 12, 2008 Author Share Posted November 12, 2008 It was/is template (shame on me) and I am computer challenged so how can I get to header.php when we create the site I remember my buddy use FTP something program to get to HTML can somebody point me in the right direction? knifeman Posted November 12, 2008 Share Posted November 12, 2008 There are many free or inexpensive FTP programs available online. You use the FTP program to connect to your server and it will show a list of folders and files just like your file manager or windows explorer on your local machine. The program will allow you to download a copy of the file where you can edit it, and then upload it overwriting the original. Always keep a backup copy of any files you modify. php is very unforgiving. an apostrophe in the wrong place can kill your whole page. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
