nursallie
I just realized that when I "append comments and "notify customer", I'm not sure the customers are even receiving this email. I never set up any email settings, does oscommerce have it's own email program? Or was I supposed to set up email somehow through yahoo.etc? I'm starting to think that the customers are receiving the part of order status "shipped", but not the comments I put in.... Thanks for your help
lindsayanng
well, yes and no.. You can send emails from oscommerce, but oyu have to link it to your host's email account.. if you go to MYSTORE and CONFIGURATION you will see the email settings. You should ALWAYS do test purchases fromy our store with a real email account before you go live. They will only recieve emails ifyou set up your email.. and if they are receiving ANY emails, they will get the comments you put in.. my guess is that they are not getting any emails since you didnt set it up A great place for newbies to start Road Map to oscommerce File Structure DO NOT PM ME FOR HELP. My time is valuable, unless i ask you to PM me, please dont. You will get better help if you post publicly. I am not as good at this as you think anyways! HOWEVER, you can visit my blog (go to my profile to see it) and post a question there, i will find time to get back and answer you Proud Memeber of the CODE BREAKERS CLUB!! Hotclutch
Hi Lindsay, How do I set up the email. The options are sendmail and smtp. Not sure what to use? I understand it's sendmail if your server is LINUX based and SMTP if Windows based.
