Q: Setting user permissions for configure files?!

Hello everybody! :)

I have installed osCommerce on my local machine using XAMPP.

On the actual storefront page I get this message:

"Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: C:/xampp/htdocs/catalog/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file."

Can somebody please explain to me how this is done? Is it done via FTP??

Many thanks in advance!

Yes you need to log in via ftp, and set then permissions to 444, 644 if 444 does not work.

Better way is to do this from you Control panel file manager as FTP does not always work!

If you are on a windows machine, use file manager /windows explorer and right click on the file configure.php.
