Guest Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 I switched from Windows to Linux recently and was wondering if anyone knows of a server environment that works on Linux similar to xamp. I used xamp when I had windows and really loved it but I am having trouble finding anything to work on a 64 Linux installation. Any help is greatly appreciated. Paul

Guest Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Hi Paul.. You can find XAMPP for Linux here: http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html Kind regards, Thank you for your response. But, That is for a 32-bit Linux and I need the 64-bit but, I don't know enough to compile my own. lol Thank you, Paul
kerm1t Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 If you're using a package-based distro (eg Redhat, Debian or their derivatives - Fedora, Ubuntu etc), you wouldn't need to compile from source - the package management system would take care of everything. You'd be able to get up and running in 10 or 15 minutes
