afterdarkaccessories Posted November 4, 2008 Share Posted November 4, 2008 Hi all, I am looking for a little advice on meta tags and url's, I recently modified my store and updated my meta tags but after doing a check on a analysis site I found that I have too many URL's on my site index.php, it also says that the page is too big. I am interested if this is a real problem or is it just a minor thing and should ignore it. My site has a PR of 2 at present. Also, is it just as important to do the same with all my meta tags/pages on my site as it is with the index page. Below is the report. many thanks Bruce Meta tags analysis. This tag contains 22 characters. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Web page analysis. This page contains too many URLs. This tag contains 215 urls. Some Search Engines have problems with more than 100 urls on a page. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The size of the web page is to big. The size of the web page is 63168 bytes. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The web page load time. The problem having too many links on a page can cause is that they may take longer for the search engines to index them all. Having a contributions like the google sitemap, All Products SEO and Dynamic Sitemap (without the admin sitemap) will help with that. The page size problem is a problem for both the search engines and your customers (more for the latter). That is typically solved by installing an auto thumbnail contribution. There is another site that analyzes your website and not only tells you whats wrong but tells you what it should be or how to fix it or improve on it. Taking this websites advise has proven quite effective for me. The website is websitegrader.com I believe. It will answer most all your questions about what should be.
