fruitbat
Hello, Here was the objective: To make a copy of of my shop (http://www.copybits.co.uk) and put the copy on a seperate host account (same host, different client - different domain) and reskin it. The new site is here: http://www.bookworm-abroad-shop.co.uk/catalog I sought lots of advice, read lots of threads and even at one stage thought that I was doing quite well! This is what I did: Made local copy Uploaded to new host account Checked file permissions Made blank database Imported original database Changed two config files (inludes & admin/inludes) Changed the domain in both index.php files (an attempt to fix problem) The BIG problem: Now I did have two sites with different urls and access to admin in both - good start :) But...... when I deleted my categories on bookworm the caregories dissapeared on copybits Thought it might be the admin username/login on bookworm so U changed that too No difference was made. All the products went went I deleted categories in bookworm The products are still in copybits - original categories can still be seen when you click on a product I am totally mistified!!!!! Please help me if you can :) Thanks Jo
fruitbat
Just me aagin, I got this funny feeling that it could be a database issue, but thats as far as my brain goes at the moment!
fruitbat
An update - things are getting better, Exported the database again, the orginal one, under a different save as name. Deleted the new one and redid it Reset the cache option on both sites to false Now have the ame on each site again but no images on the new one Now for some more testing!!! And a nice strong coffee :)
