I have hit a problem - which reading through this forum is well known.

 

If customers do not select to return to my website, I get no notification of their order - so have to email them to find out what they ordered which is hugely unprofessional.

 

One solution I have seen is to install PayPal IPN - but I have not managed to do this successfully.

 

I'm wondering if auto return would be a simpler option - but I can't figure out how to turn this on - the option is not under Profile in my PayPal account.

set auto return on.

Use Paypal IPN module.

I'm having the exact same problem. Just started to occur when I transferred to PayPal. Am not receiving orders. Just wondering, Lotti, is Satish's advice worked for you? I will try it and let others know result. Michele

autoreturn is on paypal.

 

Paypal MOdule that comes with oscommerce rc2 has that paypal module.

I have switched on auto return but sometimes this doesn't work - I think when the user does not have a paypal account or choses not to log onto their account - they they don't get auto returned - so I'm struggling with this one. I did see a couple of days back a contribution for this which may help - it's more about capturing the order.

 

I have installed on contribution but it doesn't capture all the information I need.

Thank you two for your information. Since my last note, I called PayPal twice - the last call earlier this week. I was informed that PayPal is currently working on this issue and should have it rectified by next week. I asked the man I spoke with if he would let me know when it is done and he said he would email me. I will post any findings when I hear from him. michele

I'm using PayPal Website Payments Standard, but don't have any ipn.php page in my store, so should I be redirecting to checkout_success.php instead?
