Guest Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 Please help! I've set up everything that needs to be set up for the download feature. I've read every instruction on it, I've dialed in my permissions and php files perfectly. The file to be downloaded is in my download folder but when I preview the catalog page it gives an error message at the top that says 'no file uploaded' Argh Thanks

Guest Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 i dont understand how you are getting that error message on the catelog page.. can you provide a link? When you click the actual product and dial in the specifics, weight, price, tax, etc. and then click 'preview' I'm getting the pink box with the 'no file uploaded' message. Thanks for your quick reply btw!
lindsayanng Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 that just means that you didnt add an image to that product.. its not really an error as much as a warning because it assumes that you want an image with every new product, even when you edit them, and the file already exists, its kinda a glitch You forgot to mention that you are talking about the ADMIN side when you create or edit a NEW PRODUCT.. angryquaker Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 Not sure if this will help or not, but I see the same message all the time, from non-DL products. When you add a product for the first time, dial in all the specs, price, weight, image, and so on, hit the "Submit," and you get a nice green bar up top saying everything was successful. If you go back to that same product to EDIT anything, if you don't change the image, you get a red error message saying, "no file uploaded." It doesn't affect the product in the least, the image is still there, but the interface is telling you that you didn't upload an image file. As I said, I'm not sure if this applies to your situation, I only mention it in passing. Try going through the process of buying one of your download products, see if there's anything actually wrong, and report back. Namasté, Russ PS - LOL I said, "Report back" like I actually know something, huh? I kill me. One: people are not wearing enough hats. Two: matter is energy. In the universe, there are many energy fields which we cannot normally perceive. Some energies have a spiritual source which act upon a person's soul. However, this soul does not exist ab initio, as orthodox Christianity teaches. It has to be brought into existence by a process of guided self-observation. However, this is rarely achieved, owing to man's unique ability to be distracted from spiritual matters by everyday trivia.
lindsayanng Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 re-read my post.. it is because the first time, you upload an image to that product, the second time, you dont upload an image because it already exists.. Its a small glitch in the osc. core. Thats all.. nothing to worry about. A great place for newbies to start Road Map to oscommerce File Structure DO NOT PM ME FOR HELP.
