Oscommerce Editing Page Help

Hello,

Yesterday I got Oscommerce uploaded onto my website and installed. Although I'v been testing it, I want to change some text, background and make it look more stylish. Im complete newbie at this so don't know HTML. I was wondering if there is some program which will actully make this alot more clearer and more basic. I had someone on the other end (Live Support) set osCommerce up for me as I didn't have a clue at first.

Is there some simple program which will help me design and do this?

Kind Regards,

Matty

Maybe using one of the STS contribs could help. I don't use them so I don't know what they are like. Have a look at the links in signature belpw. They will help you some.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. As im really new to this not alot of that made sense but certain parts did. I was wondering would it be possible to use a program to design my layout etc for homepage section then get the html coding and put it into oscommerce Index file?

Kind Regards,

Hi,

I'm also a new web person. But after paying someone else and not getting a site I decided to finish my site my self. I have found www.w3schools.com/php/default.asp to be a very informative site not only for php but also for html. It is free just click on php tutorial then it will advise you to learn basic html and then it will give you your choice of 2 links to click. I chose the one on the right and it is very helpful and surprisingly easy. You should be able to understand the basics of html quickly.

Best luck to you,

chimpy

Hi,

I may have already put this up but I am not sure because after I clicked reply this page came up.

I am also new to web designing. However after paying some one else to build me a web site and not getting one I decided to finish the web site I paid for. I do not know much either but if you go to www.w3schools.com/php/default/.asp then go to the php tutorial and then when you get there it will tell you that to use php you need to basic html then it will give you a choice of 2 html learning tuturials I chose the one on the right. I found it very helpful and surprisingly easy to learn the basics. It is also free.

Best of luck to you,
