Guest Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 We have a website which has been functioning fine. Getting around 5/6 orders per day. All of a sudden (for no apparant technical reason) we are gettig just 1 order per day max, and lots and lots of bailed carts. I've used supertracker to see the exit pages, which just tends to be the index page. I've also had a look at my awstats, and have noticed that this month we have a much greater number of Document Not Found (404) errors, up from 1478 hits in the whole of september to 3121 so far in october. Does anyone know how I can go about finding what the problem is? I've tested and tested from various locations and cant find any issues.
shankscomp Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 tractormad... guessing from your username, you must be in the agriculture field??? I am in the agriculture field myself. A computer technician, website, and AMS Specialist (Deere). If you don't mind, drop me the address to your site and I'll take a look at it myself to see if it kicks any 404 errors at me. Thanks Tim
ktshannon Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 Read the error log in your hosting, see which pages were being called for the 404 errors.
Guest Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 Read the error log in your hosting, see which pages were being called for the 404 errors. Ive had a look at the logs. Ive tested the refering page, and cannot recreate the issue. There is a wide spread across loads of different pages, but nothing stands out as obviously having perminant problems.
