Change text box to drop down menu

when a user registers with my shop they type in the value of their city. i want to change this city text box to a drop down box with default values. any help would be much appreciated. very new to php

There are three built-in osC functions, tep_draw_pull_down_menu, tep_get_country_list and tep_get_countries, and the countries table that you should use as references to the code and database modifications that you wish to make.
