Making changes to "Hide price if $0"

Dear community;

 

After a prolonged search, I was unable to find exactly what I needed. The closest was a contrib called "Hide price if $0". I did not see any posts with quite this situation:

 

Since our store sells products that come in 2 or 3 sizes, and since we have "free" shipping, I was able to use attributes to set up a drop down box with the different sizes. I set the main product price at and then listed each size as the actual price.

 

The problem is that $0.00 price on the index and product info pages.

 

Yes, I could hide it with the above mentioned contrib, but that would also hide the "Add to Cart" button.

 

My question is this: can "Hide price if $0" work if I omitted the changed code that hid the "Add to Cart" button? There are several steps, so I wanted to ask your advice before I started mangling code.

 

Unless someone has a better idea?
