Guest Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 I often encounter an issue whereby a customer wants to order something and they order internationally maybe and then I have to contact them to arrange a surcharge payment. Now the only online way of doing this so far I have used have been to get them to send money via Paypal (If they are a paypal customer) or to buy payment amounts on my store to the value of the surcharge (The payment amounts are simply items in the shop of £1 and £10 so customer needs to pay a surcharge of £15 then they buy 1 X £10 and 5 X £5) As you can see this is messy and not very professional looking I wandered if there is a contribution or if anyone knows other ways of doing this, i.e. maybe a url they could be sent to on your store where they enter the amount of surcharge and order reference then checkout as normal ?
♥kymation Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 I would do this with the shipping modules' Zones option. Set your normal shipping module to ship only to a UK zone, or whereever you don't need the surcharge. Then set another module for all other orders, and include your surcharges when you set up the module. The exact setup depends on what shipping module(s) you want to use. Guest Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 thx for replying Jim, but that would only cover some instances of this, is there a contribution that allows the customer to enter a price in and then checkout with that value ?
