Malicious keywords and URLS on page

Wonder if anyone may have any tips to edit keywords and URLS found on page. I've done a check on our site and found a stack of unathorised URLS and keywords found on page and Keywords in Anchor tags. This obviously messes with the way search engines list our site. I'm not very tech on this subject but would appreciate any assistance or top tips to get started to sort this out. I've previously been ncontact with our web designer on this and thought it was all sorted until I checked. I'd like to sort it myself so I know the jobs been done. Cheers.

Download a complete backup of all folders/files and database to a folder on your desktop. Then use the "Find In Files" feature of a free plain text editor like Text Pad to search that folder for all instances of the malicious keywords.

If they are present in your files or db then your site has been hacked. Your next move is to remove all hacks, not just the malicious keywords but any code that allowed them to be there, and to secure your website properly.
