hiromano Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 Currently, I'm running osCommerce 2.2ms2 Release 13 on a Plesk 7.5.4 installation, which is running PHP4 and MySQL4. I'm thinking about upgrading to Plesk 8.6 with PHP5 and MySQL5. Would this migration work seamlessly, or am I going to have to upgrade osCommerce first? If anyone has any guidance, I'd greatly appreciate it.
♥Vger Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 Upgrading to PHP 5, provided that Register Globals and Register Long Arrays are left 'on' in php.ini, should not be much of a problem. Upgrading to MySQL 5 will mean editing many of the queries used in the osCommerce 2.2 MS2 code. Vger
hiromano Posted October 16, 2008 Author Posted October 16, 2008 @Vger Thanks for such a quick reply. If I were to first upgrade osCommerce to 2.2rc2a, would I still have to rewrite the queries upon transitioning to MySQL 5?
hiromano Posted October 20, 2008 Author Posted October 20, 2008 Thanks so much. You've been a big help.
