failsafe
when i click on categories at left column, i cannot see any products. But when i search for products, they show up fine with image and description. how can i make the products visible, please help me. When you click on a product that comes up in the search, I presume the product_info.php page works correctly too? If so, you should be able to confirm what category the product is in by looking at the breadcrumb bar. It might read something like "Top >> Catalog >> CategoryName >> ProductName". You can mouse over the CategoryName part and see on the target URL bar at the bottom of your browser where it's linking to. The URL should end something like index.php?cPath=5 where the number is the number of the category in the database. Does this work? When you click on that link, and the index.php loads with the cPath=5 (or whatever category number you have), does the product list not inlcude any products at all. If not, it looks like the problem is something to do with the logic in your index.php file. If your site is on the web perhaps you can paste the URL to it so we can take a look? rooney
You are the man !!! thanks a lot. Had enabled search engine friendly URLs hence the paths were like index.php/cPath/1 . Disabled that, and also removed files from the cache folder (Configuration -> cache) . Now URLs show fine : index.php?cPath=1 and of course the products show up fine too. One more question- I would like to enable search engine friendly urls. I guess I must add rewrite rules to htaccess file at the home folder once I enable the feature at configurations. from where can i get these rewrite rules. (Im sorry that I am building a website for my customer, i cannot post the URL here without his permission. ) once again thank you :)
